Over 100 Illegal Structures Demolished in Murshidabad

Authorities in Murshidabad demolished more than 100 structures located near a national highway in the Palsanda More area on Tuesday. The action was taken by the National Highways Authority of India to clear government land that had been occupied for a long period.
Details of the Demolition Drive
The structures cleared included various permanent and temporary shops built on land adjacent to the highway. The demolition was carried out using JCB machines after officials determined the constructions were unauthorized. Local reports confirm that the area had been under illegal occupation for several years.
Notice and Enforcement
According to officials, the occupants were issued formal notices to vacate the land before the operation began. The occupiers failed to remove the structures within the provided time frame despite repeated warnings from the authorities. Following this, the special team from the highway authority initiated the clearing process on Tuesday afternoon.
Security Measures During Operation
To ensure the process remained peaceful and to prevent any disturbances, a large police force was stationed at the site. Sufficient police personnel were deployed throughout the duration of the demolition to maintain law and order while the illegal structures were being removed.
