Howrah Police Arrest Thief For Stealing Gold From House

Police in the Bally police station area have arrested a man for stealing gold jewelry from a locked house. The accused has been identified as Karim Molla, a resident of the Tangra area in Kolkata. Police successfully recovered the stolen gold ornaments from his possession following the arrest.
Details of the house theft
The incident took place on July 26 when Saibal Gupta, a resident of Shantiram Road, went to a local event with his family. Upon returning, he found his house ransacked. The victim reported that six to seven bhori of gold jewelry and 50,000 rupees in cash were missing. A formal complaint was filed at the Bally police station on July 27.
Police investigation and arrest
Investigators examined footage from nearby CCTV cameras to identify suspects. After analyzing the crime, officers conducted raids in several areas. The investigation led by officers Khagen Majumdar and Rabindranath Rui resulted in the arrest of Karim Molla. During questioning, the accused helped police recover the stolen gold items.
