The monsoon remains fully active across West Bengal, bringing a forecast of heavy to very heavy rainfall across several districts in North Bengal. According to the Hindusthan Samachar report, the weather department has issued warnings for specific regions as monsoon conditions intensify across the state.

Heavy Rain Forecast for North Bengal

Districts including Darjeeling, Kalimpong, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, and Uttar Dinajpur are expected to receive heavy rainfall. Authorities have warned that continuous rain may trigger landslides in hilly areas and waterlogging in low-lying regions. People living near rivers with strong currents are advised to remain alert due to the rising water levels.

Weather Conditions in South Bengal

In South Bengal, districts such as Kolkata, Howrah, Hooghly, and the 24 Parganas regions will experience cloudy skies. The forecast indicates light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds reaching speeds of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour. Similar weather patterns are expected across East and West Medinipur, Jhargram, Purulia, Bankura, Burdwan, Birbhum, Murshidabad, and Nadia.

Temperature and Safety Advisories

State temperatures are expected to range between a maximum of 32 to 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 27 to 28 degrees Celsius, with high humidity levels causing discomfort. The weather department has urged the public to avoid staying in open fields, near water bodies, or under trees during bad weather. Farmers, fishermen, and those traveling in hilly areas are advised to exercise special caution until the weather conditions improve.
