Heavy Rain Floods Multiple Areas in Cooch Behar City

Continuous heavy rainfall has severely disrupted normal life across Cooch Behar city, leading to significant waterlogging in several residential and commercial areas. Many houses have reported water entering their premises, causing distress to local residents who are struggling with the aftermath of the downpour.
Affected Areas and Drainage Concerns
Since Tuesday night, incessant rain has resulted in severe waterlogging across key locations in the city. The impacted areas include the bus stand, Harish Pal Chowk, Hospital More, Durgabari, Kaljani Bag, Subhash Pally, Ras Mela Ground, the town area, and the old post office vicinity. The Speaker emphasized that the goal is not only to improve drainage but also to make the city clean and organized. He further added that efforts are underway to include Cooch Behar among the country's leading clean and beautiful cities by the year 2028.
