A unique floating Durga Puja pandal built on a lake in Guwahati has attracted thousands of devotees on Maha Shashti. The Bishnupur High School Puja committee created this floating structure to celebrate the 75th year of their celebrations.
The pandal is built using bamboo and other eco friendly materials with a total budget of Rs 25 lakh. Organisers have arranged several boats for people to visit inside the floating structure. The entrance features a Shivling under a waterfall, followed by sculptures of Naag Devtas inside.
Local artist Pappu, son of Padma Shri awardee Nuruddin Ahmed, designed and constructed the pandal. The organising committee expects more than four lakh devotees to visit the pandal during the festival.
