A new gold-themed Durga Puja pandal has been officially opened in Siliguri by Jalpaiguri BJP MP Dr Jayanta Roy. More than 100 kg of genuine gold ornaments have been used to decorate Goddess Durga and the other idols at the site.
The mandap design matches the golden theme, and the decorations complement the gold-adorned idols completely.
Large numbers of people are visiting the pandal to see the magnificent work done by the artists.
Durga Puja is a yearly festival that honors Goddess Durga and celebrates her victory over Mahishasur.
