A giant Russell viper snake entered a classroom at a primary school in Durgapur, creating panic among students and teachers. The incident took place during class hours at Khetura Tribal Primary School in the Budbud area.
The snake entered the class about half an hour after the school opened, causing children to run out in fear. Teachers present at the scene were also shocked, and panic quickly spread across the school campus. The headmaster of the school, Sheikh Sirajul Haque, stated that
snakes have entered the school premises multiple times in the past, especially during the rainy season. However, a local youth managed to catch the snake this time, preventing any major accident.
Parents have expressed deep concern over the safety of their children after a venomous snake was found in the classroom. Locals and parents pointed out that
bushes and garbage are scattered all around the school, and a broken boundary wall stands near a large water body. People in the area believe these conditions are the main reason behind snakes entering the school repeatedly.
Locals and teachers have demanded the immediate cleaning of the school campus and the repair of the broken wall to ensure student safety.
