Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has donated ₹11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to help people affected by floods in the state.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the online donation on Friday, July 31, 2026. The contribution, which is approximately $1.3 million USD, is intended to
support ongoing flood relief efforts as the region deals with widespread devastation. According to
ANI, Chief Minister Sarma expressed gratitude for the assistance and noted that the industrialist provided the support quietly and is
mobilizing additional resources for relief.
Chief Minister Sarma assured the public that all money contributed to the Relief Fund would be used with
integrity and accountability. The funds are designated for the relief, rehabilitation, and rebuilding of lives for those impacted by the floods. Reports on August 1, 2026, mentioned that the Chief Minister was scheduled to provide further updates on the flood situation and relief plans.
The contribution from Gautam Adani is part of a larger trend of support for the state. Since the floods began causing destruction across Assam,
