Four illegal Rohingya citizens were caught by the RPF team at Katihar Junction while traveling on the North East Express from Kamakhya towards Jammu.
The arrested group includes a 24-year-old man named Mohammad Noor and three minor girls. After being produced in the railway court, the railway magistrate ordered the young man to be sent to jail, while the three minor girls were handed over to the Child Welfare Committee as per rules.
The suspects had no valid passport, visa, or travel documents for entry or travel in India. During the search, authorities recovered a mobile phone, 220 Indian rupees, and 1,090 Bangladeshi taka from them. Preliminary questioning revealed they are originally from Myanmar and were traveling from Kamakhya station in Assam to Jammu. A case has been registered at the Katihar rail police station based on the statement of RPF LSI Sarika Kumari.
