Former Manipur CM Meets Governor Over Hill Violence

Former Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla on Thursday to express deep concern over the prevailing situation and ongoing violence in the state's hill areas. Biren Singh stated that people are dying daily and recent attacks have resulted in villages being burned down and multiple deaths. He met the Governor at around 11.45 am to apprise him of the latest incidents, including the killing of a Kuki man and a young boy in an ambush.

Suggestions on Militants and Suspension of Operations

During the meeting, the former Chief Minister placed several suggestions before the Governor to help address the crisis. He requested that militants operating under the Suspension of Operations agreement be identified and confined to designated camps along with their weapons for two to three months. These remarks come as the security situation remains a major concern for the local administration and communities across the state.
