Leader Dilip Ghosh warned that a surgical strike will happen again if anti-national slogans are raised at Jadavpur University. This statement comes after a clash between left-wing student groups and Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad supporters at the campus.
The dispute started on Wednesday night at the Aurobindo Bhavan during a general body meeting of the engineering department. Following the meeting, tension grew between left-wing student groups and ABVP supporters.
ABVP members alleged that left-wing members beat them up, and some injured leaders were taken to KPC hospital for treatment. BJP MLA Sarbari Mukherjee visited the campus at night and warned the left-wing student groups. Meanwhile, the university administration planned to form an inquiry committee on Friday to investigate the actual cause of the dispute.
A meeting of various stakeholders was also called to discuss ways to maintain peace and order on the campus.
