DIG Inspects Kanwar Yatra Arrangements at Bhuraheri Border

Saharanpur Range DIG Abhishek Singh conducted a surprise inspection of the UP-Uttarakhand Bhuraheri border at midnight to review security and arrangements for the Kanwar Yatra. The visit focused on ensuring the safety of devotees, managing heavy traffic, and monitoring crowd control measures during the final phase of the pilgrimage. The DIG inspected the decorations, lighting, and administrative preparations made by the Purkaji Nagar Panchayat at the border.

Focus on Devotee Facilities and Safety

Following the border inspection, the DIG visited a Kanwar service camp located at Lala Sukhlal Sanatan Dharm Inter College in Purkaji. Despite the late hour, the camp was filled with pilgrims resting and taking meals. DIG Abhishek Singh expressed satisfaction with the arrangements, noting that the facility provides food and rest for over 10,000 pilgrims daily. He commended the organizers, including camp leaders Sanjay Sharma and Manish Goyal, for their dedicated service to the devotees.

Police Directives for Crowd Management

During the visit, the DIG held discussions with local police officials, including CO Sadar Rajkumar Sav and Purkaji Station House Officer Manavendra Singh Bhati. The officials were instructed to maintain strict vigilance, ensure smooth traffic flow, and prioritize the safety of devotees traveling with Dak Kanwars. The inspection highlighted the administration's commitment to preventing overcrowding and ensuring that pilgrims can complete their journey without facing any difficulties or security lapses.
