Devotees Complete 15 Kilometer Marathon for Lord Shiva

Devotees of Lord Shiva participated in a 15-kilometer marathon connecting Kaliyaganj in Uttar Dinajpur to Kushmandi in Dakshin Dinajpur to demonstrate their faith. The participants started their journey on Monday morning from the Maa Bayara Kali Temple in Kaliyaganj.

Route and Rituals

Following the start of the marathon in Kaliyaganj, the group of devotees ran a total distance of 15 kilometers. The marathon concluded at the famous Shiv temple located in Betahar within the Kushmandi block. Upon reaching the destination, the participants performed Jalabhishek, a traditional ritual of offering water to the deity, for Baba Bholanath.

Significance of the Temple

Local residents identify the Shiv temple in Betahar as a prominent Baba Dham for the region. The temple receives a large number of visitors every day who arrive to offer prayers and perform religious rituals. The site remains a central location for spiritual gatherings and worship for people living in the surrounding areas.
