Dengue Testing Facility To Open At Rajganj Rural Hospital

The health department is setting up a new dengue testing centre at Rajganj Rural Hospital to address the rising threat of the disease in the region. This marks the first time a rural hospital in the Jalpaiguri district will provide on-site dengue testing services for local residents. Previously, patients were required to travel to the Jalpaiguri District Hospital or the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital for diagnosis, which caused significant inconvenience.

Block Health Officer Rahul Roy confirmed that all necessary medical equipment for the testing facility has already arrived at the hospital. The testing centre is scheduled to become operational within this current week. This initiative aims to provide immediate relief to residents who previously struggled with long-distance travel to receive medical confirmation for their symptoms.

Rise In Patients With Fever Symptoms

Health officials have observed an increase in the number of patients reporting fever, cold, and cough symptoms across various hospitals and health centres in the Rajganj block. These symptoms are being reported more frequently among children in the area. While the rise in patients is noted, authorities stated that there is no need for panic at this time.
