Darjeeling MP Raju Bista announced Rs 15 lakh for the development of Mirik College during its 26th foundation day and Teachers Day. The funds will be given from the MP local area development fund and the MLA local area development fund. He also greeted all teachers and sought their blessings on this special day.
Raju Bista stated that setting up new institutes will create jobs and opportunities for the youth in education and development.
He mentioned that the Indian Institute of Forest Management in Kurseong is running and the Eklavya Model Residential School in Kalimpong is working.
He added that a medical college was announced for Kalimpong and work will be done for an AIIMS in North Bengal.
The MP is working to set up many institutes in Mirik and nearby areas to boost higher education and jobs for youth.
These planned institutes include a nursing college in Mirik, an engineering college in the Mirik-Kurseong area, and an agricultural university.
He also noted plans for an Institute of Hotel Management in Darjeeling, a Krishi Vigyan Kendra, and schools in Phansidewa and Kalimpong.
Raju Bista said that Mirik may see big investments in the future and the area will be developed as a top tourism hub.
He urged students to get ready for upcoming opportunities right now so local youth can get more jobs and business chances.
