The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Festival started at Sukna station on Saturday. Northeast Frontier Railway general manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava inaugurated the event to showcase the rich history and heritage of the famous mountain railway.
A special photo gallery was opened at Sukna station during the event. This gallery displays old pictures of trains to help tourists, history lovers, and visitors understand the long journey and past of the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.
After the Sukna event, the general manager traveled to Kurseong. There, he inaugurated a new view point and a railway security force barrack. He also held a meeting with railway officials to discuss passenger facilities, train services, and future development plans to make the train ride more popular among tourists.
