Darjeeling Himalayan Railway Announces Six Extra Joy Rides

The Darjeeling Himalayan Railway has decided to start six extra joy rides for tourists during the upcoming festive season. These new services are planned to run from October to December to manage the heavy rush of visitors in the hills.

New Routes and Train Details

Four single-trip joy rides will run on the Darjeeling to Ghum and Ghum to Darjeeling route using diesel engines. The fare for these rides is fixed at 800 rupees per passenger.

Special Steam Engine Rides

Two new joy rides named Red Panda and Muktadhara will start on the Kurseong to Mahanadi route. The Red Panda ride will use a traditional steam engine with a fare of 1,530 rupees, while the Muktadhara diesel-powered ride will cost 1,030 rupees per passenger.
