Cooch Behar Homemaker Crafts Tiny Modi Statues

A homemaker from Cooch Behar created three miniature statues of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to mark his birthday.
Soma Mukherjee, a resident of the New Bazaar area, spent about three months of hard work to make these tiny sculptures. The height of the statues measures four centimeters, 2.2 centimeters, and the smallest one is only 1.5 centimeters tall. She used cloth and various other materials to craft these detailed pieces with great precision.
Artistic Background of the Creator
Soma stated that she has loved making miniature models of famous personalities since her childhood. Her previous work includes a small Durga idol that received much appreciation. She has also made tiny sculptures of historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. By creating these new pieces, she has added another unique artwork to her portfolio.
Wish to Meet the Prime Minister
Soma expressed her desire to present these handmade statues directly to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Meanwhile, the Cooch Behar district organization is running a month-long Sewa Sankalp program as part of the nationwide birthday events. Her miniature art pieces have become a major center of attraction for local residents.
