Congress leaders have strongly condemned the recent killing of a 17-year-old youth in Manipur. The party accused the central government of acting as silent spectators while violence continues in the state.
Keisham Meghachandra Singh stated that political leaders are supporting their own community groups instead of stopping the violence. He emphasized that
every life matters in Manipur and criticized the lack of dialogue between communities. Congress leader Udit Raj questioned why the Prime Minister has not visited the crisis-hit state. He pointed out that
tens of thousands of residents remain uprooted from their homes without effective central intervention. Earlier, a large number of women held a massive torch rally in Imphal. The demonstrators demanded an
immediate update to the National Register of Citizens with 1951 as the base year amid heavy security deployment.
