Congress Slams BJP Over Threats To Ankita Bhandari Lawyer
Congress leader Kumari Selja has criticized the BJP government in Uttarakhand after the lawyer representing the family of 2022 murder victim Ankita Bhandari received threats. Kumari Selja called the threats extremely serious and questioned the law and order situation in the state.
Demands For Advocate Security
Kumari Selja demanded immediate police protection for advocate Navneesh Negi and urged the state government to pass an Advocate Protection Act. She stated that criminals should not create fear in the state and the rule of law must prevail.
Case Background
Ankita Bhandari was working as a receptionist at a resort in Rishikesh when she was murdered in September 2022. Three accused individuals were previously sentenced to life imprisonment in the case.
