A fatal crash on the Assam-Meghalaya border left one child dead and six people injured. The accident happened on the Paikan-Tura National Highway at Bakhiripara in the Kukurkata sector under the Krishnai Police Station.
A passenger car with Meghalaya registration plates collided with two e-rickshaws carrying commuters and school children. The impact destroyed both three-wheelers and threw passengers onto the road.
Local residents and police rescued seven people from the wreckage. One child died from head trauma during medical treatment, and four passengers are in critical condition in intensive care.
