Border Security Force personnel patrolling the Rayermura sector of West Tripura have detained several foreign nationals attempting to illegally cross the international border fence. Following their apprehension, the individuals were transferred to local police authorities to undergo statutory verification processes.
This incident is part of ongoing heightened security measures along the 856-kilometer border between India and Bangladesh, where authorities are actively working to
curb illegal infiltration and cross-border criminal activities. Recent enforcement actions have included the October 23 detention of 40-year-old Moinuddin Mia, also known as Dalim Mia, in the Kadamtala area of North Tripura.
Mia was found at the residence of Taiyab Ali and reportedly
admitted to paying a broker Rs 10,000 to facilitate his illegal entry. He was subsequently handed over to the Kadamtala Police Station, where charges were filed under the Immigration and Foreigners Act, 2025. Security efforts also remain focused on incident management at the border, such as the October 16 event in the Sepahijala district, where two Border Guard Bangladesh officers were intercepted by villagers and later returned by the BSF.
