Bharatiya Maz मजदूर Sangh (BMS) supported panel won all 13 seats in the Bandel Thermal Power Station operations committee election, defeating old left-wing influence in the area. The election saw a major upset as the BMS candidates defeated rivals from the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) and Indian National Trinamool Trade Union Congress (INTTUC).
For decades,
left-wing worker unions, especially CITU, held strong influence over the Bandel Thermal Power Station operations committee. Even during the Trinamool Congress regime, this dominance remained unchallenged. However,
this election marks a massive change in labor union politics as the BMS panel swept every single seat.
BMS election in-charge Rajesh Kumar Srivastava stated that workers clearly showed their trust and support through their votes. He added that
this victory is the result of employee unity, trust in the union, and a desire for positive change.
