BJP MP Demands Strict Punishment For Tripura Slur

BJP MP Rajib Bhattacharjee has stated that content creator Amir Shokeen should receive the strictest punishment for alleged racial slurs against a youth from Tripura. The remarks came after an FIR was filed and the state government took prompt action following the incident in Delhi.

Government And Police Action

Tripura Police arrived in Delhi to take custody of the accused influencer after his arrest by Delhi Police. BJP spokesperson Nabendu Bhattacharjee stated that the Chief Minister summoned the Director General of Police and directed immediate action. The accused is expected to be brought to Tripura on transit remand for further court proceedings.

Leaders Condemn Racial Harassment

Leaders from multiple political parties strongly condemned the public humiliation and racial harassment. Opposition leader Jitendra Chaudhury described the incident as an affront to the entire North-East region and called for severe legal action. DSP Headquarters Samudra Debbarma confirmed that a case has been registered and the police investigation is currently ongoing.
