BJP leader claims conspiracy in Annapurna scheme distribution

West Bengal BJP leader Samik Bhattacharya has claimed that there were attempts to disrupt the Annapurna scheme system. He spoke about this issue during an event in Howrah on Sunday.

Annapurna Scheme Payment Delay

Samik Bhattacharya admitted that there are some technical problems and deviations in the Annapurna scheme process. He stated that about three percent of eligible women have not received their money yet. He assured that nearly 50 lakh more women will soon get the benefits.

Screening and Eligibility Checks

The BJP leader stressed the need for proper screening to prevent wrong beneficiaries from getting funds. He questioned whether high-income earners or government employees should receive social welfare benefits. Meanwhile, protests have been reported in parts of the state over delayed payments to eligible women.
