A police complaint has been filed against Bengali actor and former MLA Soham Chakraborty by a carpenter who accuses him of physical assault and non-payment of dues. The case is currently under investigation by the local authorities in Kolkata.
The complainant, Rajkapoor Sharma, stated that he was hired to make wardrobes at the actor residence in Behala, South Kolkata. According to the formal complaint,
the carpenter completed most of the assigned work but allegedly did not receive the remaining payment for his services.
Rajkapoor Sharma visited the actor home on Monday to ask for his pending wages after being called there.
The carpenter alleged that he was made to wait for a long time before being abused, threatened with death, and physically pushed out of the premises along with having his mobile phone snatched.
This is not the first time the actor has faced legal trouble as he was previously accused of financial fraud and disputes with workers during film shoots.
Police have started a formal inquiry into the latest allegations while the actor has not yet issued any public response.
