A massive fire completely destroyed a house in the Belakoba area of Rajganj block late Thursday night. No injuries or casualties were reported in this sudden fire incident. The house belonged to a sweet businessman named Jagadish Pal.
Short circuit is suspected as the initial cause of the fire that broke out late at night. Local residents rushed to the spot immediately and tried hard to put out the flames.
Locals managed to control the fire to a large extent after about one hour of continuous effort.
The fire engine arrived late at the scene, which made the local people very angry. Residents started a protest and surrounded the fire service personnel.
Belakoba police outpost team reached the spot later and brought the tense situation under control.
