BCCI official calls India Japan T20 match a major success
Board of Control for Cricket in India Secretary Devajit Saikia praised the recent T20 match between India and Japan as a major step for cricket ties. The special match was played on Tuesday to celebrate 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

India secured a narrow two-run win in the rain-shortened five-over match. India scored 32/4 with Shreyas Iyer top-scoring with 16 runs. In reply, Japan reached 30/3, with Axar Patel successfully defending eight runs in the final over.
Vision Behind the Fixture
Devajit Saikia credited ICC Chairman Jay Shah for the initiative to organize the match. Saikia stated that the enthusiasm from Japanese fans will help grow the popularity of cricket in Japan and neighboring countries.
