Balurghat Job Fair Begins on August 18 for North Bengal Youth

The South Dinajpur district is set to host a major employment event at the Balurghat Stadium on August 18. This job fair, also known as a skill fair, aims to connect job seekers from across North Bengal with various national companies and job providers.

Details of the Balurghat Job Fair

Union Minister of State for Education and Balurghat MP Sukanta Majumdar has urged unemployed youth from South Dinajpur and neighboring districts to attend the event. More than 100 companies are expected to participate in this job fair. Representatives from these companies will assess the qualifications, skills, and abilities of the candidates at their respective stalls. Based on these assessments, the companies will offer suitable employment opportunities to the attendees.

Government Initiative for Skill Development

Sukanta Majumdar expressed his gratitude to the Union Minister of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Jayant Chaudhary, for selecting South Dinajpur as the venue for this event. According to the MP, the fair is being organized under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The government has initiated a plan to train nearly one crore youth in modern technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, in the coming days.
