Assembly Speaker Urges Respect For Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose

West Bengal Assembly Speaker Biman Banerjee visited the Netaji Museum in Kurseong on Thursday. The Speaker expressed his view that the historic museum should not be limited to local recognition only. He stressed that there is a need to promote the museum on a global level to ensure people from across the world learn about Netaji’s life and his contribution to India's independence. He plans to submit a formal proposal to the Chief Minister regarding the development and promotion of this site.

Although a large number of tourists visit the museum daily, the Speaker noted that many are still unaware of its exact location and historical significance. He highlighted that there is a need for better publicity and the development of basic infrastructure to support visitors traveling from the plains to the hills. Improved facilities would help attract more tourists and provide a better experience for those interested in history.

Addressing the ongoing discussions surrounding Netaji, the Speaker reiterated that his contribution to the nation cannot be forgotten. He stated that no one should make statements that hurt the sentiments of the common people. He further added that if any wrongdoing occurs, the government will take appropriate action.
