National Health Mission Assam sent 76 children with congenital heart disease to premier hospitals for free treatment. The flag-off ceremony took place at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The children are travelling to advanced healthcare facilities including Narayana Health in Bengaluru and Mumbai along with Health City Hospital.
The Government of Assam is fully sponsoring all medical costs, surgeries, travel, and logistics through the CHD State Scheme.The departure ceremony started at 11:00 AM at the CN Centre in Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.
Prof Dr Babul Kumar Bezbaruah officially flagged off the young patients and their guardians in the presence of other senior health officials.
