Details of the Operation

Security forces stopped a Ford EcoSport vehicle in the Mungiakami area based on secret information. The vehicle was carrying the illegal drugs. While the cannabis and the vehicle were seized, the driver managed to run away from the scene. No arrests have been made so far.The seized cannabis and the vehicle were handed over to Customs authorities for further legal action. The operation took place under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985. This law makes the possession and transport of such substances illegal, with punishments including heavy fines and up to 20 years in prison.
