Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park have officially reopened to domestic and international visitors for the 2026-27 wildlife tourism season. Manas resumed operations on October 2, 2026, while Kaziranga reopened on October 3, 2026, following the annual monsoon closure.
Jeep safaris are operating in Kaziranga at the Central and Western ranges with two daily slots, but
elephant safaris are suspended until November 1, 2026. At Manas, specific weekly closures apply to its four ranges. Visitors must book permits through the
Assam Forest Department portal or the
Assam Sewa Setu portal.
Safari tariffs and vehicle quotas remain the same as the previous season. Both parks follow strict rules under the Wildlife Protection Act, including speed limits and a ban on single-use plastics.
Local operators report heavy bookings as the tourism season begins.
