Assam Police Vehicle Torched Near Meghalaya Border

Security forces along the Assam and Meghalaya border are on high alert after a private vehicle belonging to an on-duty police havildar was burned down near the Upper Lampi Battalion Border Outpost in Boko. The incident took place late at night on August 25, 2026, and completely destroyed the vehicle by fire. The victim, Havildar Arbinda Roy of the 28th Assam Police Battalion, had parked his car on an unpaved approach track outside the camp because bad road conditions stopped him from driving it inside.
