Assam police have seized illicit drugs worth over 6.6 crore rupees in the Sribhumi border district during a targeted operation. Four people were arrested on the spot after officers found hidden narcotics inside a vehicle.
Officers set up checkpoints based on precise intelligence about a vehicle moving from neighboring hill states. Police discovered 66,000 synthetic Yaba and methamphetamine tablets concealed in modified storage compartments beneath the vehicle floor.
According to a report by the Press Trust of India, the four arrested operatives used rural tea garden routes to avoid static interstate checkposts. Forensic teams cataloged the seized items which were meant for distribution in border areas. Police continue to investigate the logistical handlers behind the network.
