Assam Police seize drugs worth 12.5 crore and arrest three

Assam Police have seized narcotics worth approximately ₹12.5 crore and arrested three people in a major interstate drug operation.

Drugs Seized Near Amingaon

A joint team stopped a suspicious vehicle near Amingaon. Officers recovered approximately 50,000 Yaba tablets and several packages of high-grade heroin which were hidden in secret compartments of the car.

Details of the Arrested Persons

The three arrested individuals are identified as Kh Tabish, Thekcham Avinash Singh, and Nongmaithem Biswajit. All three individuals are from Manipur and were transporting the shipment from Manipur towards lower Assam.

Investigation and Legal Action

Police acted on precise intelligence inputs to stop the shipment. Legal proceedings have started under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. Authorities are now interrogating the suspects to find the supply chain, local receivers, and the people funding the syndicate.
