VFS Global has opened its first visa application centre in Guwahati, Assam, to make international travel easier for people in Northeast India. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and other ministers jointly opened the new facility.
The new facility will process visa applications for 14 countries, including Austria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Egypt, Estonia, France, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Malta, Morocco, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom. This centre will serve applicants from Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Manipur, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Sikkim.
The visa application centre is located at ISBT, Khanapara, Guwahati, and is easily accessible through public and private transport. VFS Global stated that the new centre reflects the growing demand for international travel from Northeast India for tourism, education, and business.
