Assam Engineer Arrested For Taking Bribe

An Assam government engineer was arrested by the Chief Minister Vigilance Cell for allegedly taking a bribe.

The anti-corruption team raided the Public Works Department office in Dibrugarh. Officers caught Assistant Executive Engineer Mridul Baglari red-handed while taking the first part of a bribe.

Pending Bill Demands

A local contractor filed a complaint after the engineer demanded money to clear pending project bills. Officials seized documents and cash during searches at the office and the home of the accused engineer.
