Assam CM visits Madhupur Satra for development plans

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited the historic Madhupur Satra in Cooch Behar on Saturday to discuss development plans. He was accompanied by ministers from Assam and West Bengal during the visit.

Visit and Inspection

During the visit, the Chief Minister offered prayers and inspected the Kirtan Ghar and guest house to check the condition of the infrastructure. He also held a meeting with ministers and Satradhikars from various satras to discuss the proposed development.

Heritage and Development

The Chief Minister stated that Madhupur Satra holds immense spiritual and historical significance as the final resting place of revered figures like Mahapurush Srimanta Sankardeva. The Assam Government plans a comprehensive development programme to transform the site while preserving its heritage and reclaiming encroached land.
