Assam CM Opens Naharkatia Multi Sports Complex

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has inaugurated the Naharkatia Multi Sports Complex to boost sports infrastructure in the region. The new facility is the first of its kind in the Naharkatia Legislative Assembly Constituency and aims to promote sports training and competitions.

Modern Facilities Available

The sports complex includes a football field, an earthen running track, and a swimming pool measuring 25 metres by 15 metres. The campus also features a covered RCC spectator gallery, a gymnasium, players dressing rooms, a medical room, and a canteen. The football field has an underground drainage system and a sprinkler system for easy maintenance.

Cricket and Hockey Infrastructure

The Assam Cricket Association has also completed an international-standard cricket stadium in Naharkatia. The venue includes a pavilion, practice facilities, and a green spectator gallery. Additionally, the state government is building a full-fledged hockey stadium nearby to support local athletes.
