Assam CM Alleges Anti-National Forces Plan Regime Change

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that anti-national forces are trying to overthrow the government through street protests and undemocratic methods. The Chief Minister claimed that groups failing to secure public support are attempting to engineer a regime change.
Allegations Made on Social Media
Sarma shared a video on X featuring senior advocate Prashant Bhushan and urged people to identify the faces in the footage. He stated that their mission is to grab power by anarchist means. He added that India has a robust democracy based on the will of the people and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Response from Prashant Bhushan
Prashant Bhushan had earlier called for a regime change, stating that the central government is crushing electoral democracy. Bhushan maintained that calling for a change in government is a democratic right of every citizen. He rejected allegations that the opposition is running an operation to seize power.
