The Bharatiya Janata Party in Assam organised a statewide cleanliness drive on Friday to mark Mahatma Gandhi birth anniversary. Party leaders and workers participated in cleaning public places, roads, and parks across various regions to create public awareness about sanitation.
State BJP President Dilip Saikia took part in the cleanliness programme organised at the Shaheed Bedi near Bharalumukh in Guwahati. He paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi along with Central Guwahati MLA Vijay Gupta and local party workers.
Party spokesperson Jayanta Kumar Goswami stated that the drive honoured Gandhi ideals and responded to the Prime Minister call to strengthen the national sanitation movement. BJP workers stated they will continue to carry forward the message of cleanliness as a responsibility toward society.
