Asansol Relief Operations Begin After Heavy Rain Damage

Continuous heavy rainfall in Asansol since Monday has caused significant problems for residents living in mud houses, with water entering several homes. The Asansol Municipal Corporation team visited the Kali Pahadi area on Tuesday to provide immediate support to affected families.
Relief materials distributed to affected families
Under the leadership of the Municipal Commissioner, the team distributed tarpaulins and other essential relief supplies to those impacted by the weather. The municipal authorities have also arranged food for the residents whose homes were damaged by the persistent rain.
Housing department assessment
Municipal Commissioner Dilip Mishra stated that the housing department has inspected the area to identify families in need of permanent homes. The names of eligible families have been registered for permanent housing, and the government process to provide these homes will follow.
Official directives for relief
Local reports indicate that state minister Agnimitra Paul directed the municipal commissioner to ensure help reaches the affected people in the Asansol South assembly constituency. BJP leader Prashant Chakraborty and the municipal team are working together to deliver aid to the residents in the Kali Pahadi area.
