Arunachal Pradesh Governor Lt Gen KT Parnaik met with General Officer Commanding 101 Area Lt Gen Mohit Waghwa at Lok Bhavan in Itanagar to discuss key matters. The leaders talked about civil-military coordination, logistics support, and disaster relief preparedness in the North-East region. During the meeting, the Governor praised the 101 Area command for its prompt response during natural disasters such as floods and landslides.
The Governor highlighted the strategic importance of Arunachal Pradesh and stressed the need for stronger coordination between the Armed Forces, the State Government, and civil administration.
He suggested improving transit routes, communication networks, and administrative infrastructure to support troop movement and border logistics.
The Governor urged the GOC to strengthen welfare measures for Ex-Servicemen and Veer Naris, focusing on the Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme and healthcare empanelment.
He also emphasized skill development, educational assistance, and pension-related services for veterans. The GOC assured the Governor of the Indian Army’s continued commitment to supporting the security and development of the people.
The Governor visited the Armed Forces Goodwill Enclosures at Ziro in the Lower Subansiri district.
He appreciated the efforts of the Indian Army, Indian Air Force, and Border Roads Organisation in creating public awareness and encouraging youth to join the military through various display stalls.
