Arunachal Congress Alleges Chinese Intrusion In Border Areas

Arunachal Pradesh Congress President Bosiram Siram claimed that Chinese troops have entered 40 to 50 kilometres deep into Indian territory in the Upper Subansiri district. The claims were made during a press briefing where Siram detailed the findings of a high-level Congress delegation visit to the frontier areas.
A Congress delegation undertook a tour of border areas from August 26 to 29 to assess ground realities. The team travelled from Itanagar through Nacho to Limeking and Taksing, where they interacted with local residents.
Impact On Local Livelihoods
Siram stated that aggressive posturing by the Chinese People's Liberation Army has disrupted the normal lives of locals. Residents are reportedly unable to access traditional areas for yak herding, foraging, and hunting due to restrictions in frontier zones.
Clashes And Security Concerns
The Congress leader claimed that a face-off situation persists between Indian and Chinese troops at multiple friction points. He alleged that physical scuffles broke out during the last week of July, during which Indian forces countered Chinese aggression.
Infrastructure And Demands
Siram called on the Central government and the Ministry of Defence to strengthen roads and communication networks in border areas. He also advocated for the creation of a dedicated Arunachal Regiment to prioritize local youth for border security.
