Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu announced new initiatives to boost the startup and investment ecosystem in the state. These include the Arunachal Creative Economy programme and a mini NITI Aayog think tank called the Institute for Transforming Arunachal.
The Chief Minister announced these steps at an event marking the graduation of Cohort 4 and the commencement of Cohort 5 of the Arunachal Pradesh Entrepreneurship Development Program. The new ACE programme will help young people turn creative ideas into business enterprises. The Institute for Transforming Arunachal will bring experts together to guide policy in sectors like agriculture and tourism.
Satellite incubation cells were inaugurated at seven higher education institutions, and new agreements were signed with five more institutions. The intake under the program has been doubled from 50 to 100 startups, and seed money has been increased. Entrepreneurs in Cohort 5 will undergo a nine-month incubation period at the Arunachal Pradesh Innovation and Investment Park.
