Arunachal Cabinet Congratulates PM Modi On 25 Years

The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Pema Khandu, has officially congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 years of continuous service as head of government. PM Modi took the oath as Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, and later became the Prime Minister of India on May 26, 2014. His third consecutive term began on June 9, 2024. In a press release issued by the CMO, the state cabinet noted that his responsibilities have grown over the years while his devotion to the nation has remained constant. The cabinet highlighted major national transformations achieved under his leadership, including welfare programs, economic strength, national security, technology, infrastructure, and infrastructure projects like the GST reforms and the abrogation of Article 370.

Developmental Progress in Arunachal Pradesh

Arunachal Pradesh has achieved 100 percent saturation under key central welfare schemes, including the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana and the Jal Jeevan Mission. Around 55,000 families received pucca houses registered in the names of women, and over 2.26 lakh families are covered under healthcare schemes providing cashless treatment. The state has also witnessed remarkable infrastructure transformation, including the Sela and Nechiphu tunnels, the Donyi Polo Airport, and the Vibrant Villages Programme. Furthermore, the state is emerging as a hydropower powerhouse with projects like the 2,000 MW Subansiri Lower Hydroelectric Project.

Other Key Cabinet Decisions

The Arunachal Pradesh Cabinet also approved several administrative decisions to strengthen higher and technical education, healthcare services, and support for women. The cabinet approved uniform recruitment rules for teaching and technical positions in government engineering and polytechnic colleges based on AICTE regulations. To support women facing distress, the cabinet approved the creation of 20 posts for the Women Helpline-181 scheme. Additionally, the cabinet approved the renaming of several educational institutions in honor of local leaders, enhanced grade pay for posts under the National Leprosy Elimination Programme, and created five new posts of Food Safety Officer to strengthen health monitoring.
