Siliguri homes are now receiving special identification stickers for the Annapurna Bhandar scheme. West Bengal Tourism Minister and Siliguri MLA Shankar Ghosh officially started this new door-to-door sticker campaign on Wednesday.
The main goal of this initiative is to clearly identify families who are already getting benefits under the scheme.
Minister Shankar Ghosh stated during an interview that the Annapurna scheme has already given financial help to many people in the region. The new stickers will show which households are successfully receiving these welfare benefits.
Government officials are also checking cases of eligible people who have not received help yet.
Minister Shankar Ghosh promised that all eligible persons who are left out will get financial aid soon after a proper review.
The local residents showed great excitement and happiness for this new beneficiary identification drive in the city.
