West Burdwan minister Agnimitra Paul has reacted to the ongoing controversy surrounding the recent milk incident in the Park Street area of Kolkata. She stated that no milk was snatched from any child's mouth on the footpath, but the family was only asked to move away from that spot.
Minister Paul explained that a small child crawling on a busy road could lead to an accident. She added that footpaths are meant for pedestrians and it is necessary to keep them free from encroachments.
The government will continue its action against illegal parking, encroachment, and illegal occupation of footpaths. She also mentioned that efforts are underway to bring investments and industries to the state, which requires improvements in roads, drains, and basic city facilities to keep the city clean and organized.
