Adani Group Donates 11 Crore for Assam Flood Relief Efforts

Gautam Adani, the Chairman of the Adani Group, has contributed ₹11 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support ongoing flood relief and rehabilitation work. Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma confirmed the donation on July 31, 2026, and thanked the group for providing support during the disaster.

Adani Foundation Launches Relief Program

Following the financial donation, the Adani Foundation started a relief program in Upper Assam. With help from Adani Smart Meter and Guwahati International Airport Limited, the foundation is distributing essential relief kits to nearly 8,000 families. These kits include food, medicine, and hygiene supplies. The aid is being delivered to 14 villages in the Nazira Sub-Division of Sivasagar district and flood-hit areas in the Silapathar region of Dhemaji district.

Government Guidelines on Relief Donations

Chief Minister Sarma stated that this contribution helps the state provide better assistance to families affected by the floods. He encouraged the public to donate through the official Chief Minister's Relief Fund to maintain transparency. The state government manages this fund to assist citizens during natural disasters. Donations made to this fund qualify for tax exemptions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, and the government keeps a public record of all transactions.
